Synopsis:

Gabriela is a high-ranking executive with a husband and two kids, but her hectic life is anything but fulfilling. An office colleague convinces her there is another world out there waiting to be discovered, so she reviews her list of things she has always wanted to do and tries to overcome her initial fear of the unknown. La vida era en serio narrates Gabriela´s family life and her attempts to experience new sensations, but the light-hearted, almost comical tone it opens with acquires dramatic overtones at the denouement when Gabriela discovers everything has its price and begins on the descent into hell that was implicit in the story from the very outset.
